Does Windows XP Pro use all cores on a dual Quad-Core Xeon system?
Open the Task Manager screen and go to "processes." Go to "see" and "select columns" and ensure that he is "Threads." View all programs with more than one thread? Ok, let's say I build a workstation running two Intel Xeon quad-core processors, that's eight cores in total. Does Windows XP Pro be able to recognize and divide the workload thread of all the eight core processes in this system?
AFAIK, it's a crap shoot – This is based on the MS results your hardware. A license is for XP PRO retail is two processors, not 8, and certainly not 32. Even says on the disc. Server 2003 supports up to 32 procs, XP PRO NO. Corp can see be different, but not explicitly stated that only XP PRO.
