I'm not up on the server and connection, but I guess rightly or wrongly, that if there 2×18gb hard disk drives in an intelligent system then the backup array disk to disk 2 is this correct.? thanks, but you could have just said yes.

Depending on the configuration. If the disk space taken up by the array is 18 GB and units both have access, most likely, yes, that the units are in a RAID 1. If the matrix shows a 36 GB hard drive or a single access, then they could be in RAID 0 or not in a RAID array. Note that definitely should check your configuration to verify that the units are in a RAID 1.
