Poweredge Server
I have a Dell PowerEdge 2550 server with 5 hard drives, only one of which I have not had problems with.?
I wonder what Linux distro that must be loaded in it. I have tried openSUSE Live CD, Ubuntu 7.10 live CD, Fedora Core Live CD, and Ubuntu 6.04 LTS Dapper Drake live CD is the only worked. Ubuntu 7.10 server froze at 21 percent twice with 2 different downloads and CDs, and so did the Ubuntu alternate 7.10. Currently I'm testing not the suse live cd. I just want to use it as a file server and surf the Internet and things like that. Prosessors has 2 933MHz and 1 GB of memory. Thanks in advance!
You can also use Mandriva Linux for file servers, but also, you can use Windows 2003 or XP, if the machine will be used as a server files and surf the web.
