MOBO piece of * ^% and help please?
New MOBO problem? I just got a new motherboard and a new processor and RAM and a new housing with 500wat outlet. I connect everything and turn on for 1 second and with the fans and then turns off. I tried removing the memory card, and g and the same problem. I it was the power supply, but I've tried two of them new now. Also I put in my old case and did the same test and it worked. any idea why this wat powersupply 500 and the working deck wonty? Do not use paper washers, just wind the screws in, need to ground the motherboard to the case. I can build a lot of systems and never use them. Put your CPU, heatsink and fan, and RAM in then you should get a BIOS post, even if the motherboard is not installed on the case. Another thing can cause it to run for a second or two and then off a sticky power switch. Unlock the power switch on the front of the box when connected to the motherboard, and put the two pins on the motherboard with a screwdriver, remove quickly. Power switches in the short and open circuit, so the computer work if the switch sticks a steady flow of electricity will run at the pins, and are not supposed to happen, so it shuts down the motherboard.
