Dual Quad Core
I’m upgrading my processor in my Alienware M17 and I was wondering if I should go with Dual or Quad core?
I’ve been looking at the X9100 Dual Core that runs at 3.06GHz, and the QX9300 Quad Core that runs at 2.53Ghz. Which is better for gaming? The current processor that I have is the P8600 Dual Core that runs at 2.4 Ghz.
Leave it…if you need more speed you can overclock.
That being said, a dual 2.4 meets or exceeds the recommended CPU stats for almost every game out there right now.
If you truely want to upgrade, wait about 6 months, when the 9100 will be half the price it currently is.
The first game that is expected to be able to fully *use* a quad isn’t due out until Q3 of 2010 at the *earliest*!
